What's up, everyone? I'll share my little project with you guys. :grouphug:
I've got an '04 Cobra that's been through a few transitions at this point. My first setup was an upper/lower pulley setup with the unported Eaton and bolt-on's (7.40's on pump gas). The last setup was a 2.3L Whipple and supporting mods (6.90's on pump gas). And the new setup that I'm currently working on is a HPP 61mm Twin-Turbo system.
The kit consists of upgraded Precision 61mm Ball-Bearing Turbo's, HPP Fabricated Turbo Headers, Twin Turbosmart Blow Off Valves, Turbosmart 38mm Wastegate, 1300 HP Capable Bar & Plate Intercooler, HPP Custom EVAC Kit, HPP Sheetmetal Coolant Reservoir, and HPP Twin 3" Down Pipes dumped.
I also bought an '01 Cobra long block so that I may utilize all of the parts necessary for the turbo build off of it. The parts I'll use consists of the '01 Cobra Coolant Crossover Tube, '01 Cobra Accelerator & Cruise Cable, '01 Cobra Accelerator Bracket, '01 Cobra Alternator Bracket & Alternator, '01 Cobra Timing Chain Cover & Pulley's, '01 Cobra Harmonic Balancer, and '01 CobraA/C Unit.
I also sold my Terminator shortblock and went with a fully built MMR shortblock that has Manley Fully Forged -11cc Dish Pistons bringing the compression up to 9.1:1, Manley Domestic Piston Rings, Manley Forged H-Beam Rods, Forged Cobra Crankshaft that's been cryo treated, polished, and race prepped, ARP 2000 Main Studs/Bolts, ARP Head Studs/Bolts, and Felpro Head Gaskets. This setup should be plenty good for 1000 RWHP easy so now I've got absolutely no limitations on my setup.
I ditched my built T56 and bought a built 4R70W to further compliment the turbo setup. It has the following components: B&M Hammer Shifter, PATC Track Dominator 3000 Stall, Transgo HD3 Full Manual Valve Body Kit with Modulator, New Intermediate Ratchet Sprag, New Art Carr Billet Stub Shaft, 9 Clutch Direct Alto Red with Kolene Steels, 5 Clutch Alto Second Gear, 6 Clutch Alto Forward Clutch, Wide Kevlar OD Band, Superior Billet OD Servo, 4R75W Stainless Sun Shell, and Billet Steal Pressure Regulator Valve.
To support the power that I'll be making, I needed to upgrade my fuel system entirely. I wanted to do it right the first time so I went all out. I went with the Glenn's Performance Triple Fuel System with Sumped Sleeper Tank. It includes the Glenn's Performance Sleeper Fuel Tank, Glenn's Performance Fuel Filter 100 MIC with Cleanable Stainless Element, Tripple Walbro Fuel Pumps that flow 300 LPH each with hi flow fittings, Glenn's Performance Billet Triple Fuel Pump Manifolds, Glenn's Performance Billet Y Block, Aeromotive A 1000 fuel pressure regulator with 1-1 boost reference, NHRA leagal Aeroquip Braided Steel Fuel Line, Aeroquip Hose Ends and Swivels, Aeroquip AN/Boss Fittings, and Rubber Coated Fuel Line Mounting Clamps. I also got the Ford Racing 80lb. Fuel Injectors and Sullivan Fuel Rails.
I also am doing other things to the Cobra during this time to make sure that it's exactly how I'd like it when it's finished. My girlfriend Liz just picked up my AEM Tru Boost Controller (also doubles as a boost gauge) and AEM UEGO Wideband Controller about 10 minutes ago so I've got that covered. I'm also having Ford Racing 3.31 Gear's put in the rear end to create more load and allow the turbo's to spool up faster. I'm also having the torque boxes and axle tubes welded for further strengthening to ensure that I don't break when at the track. A lot of powder coating has been done, as well. I got the valve covers, coil covers, timing chain cover, Sullivan Lower Intake, HPP Custom Sheet Metal Upper, coolant crossover pipe, tensioner pulley, alternator bracket, and the entire HPP Cold Side Piping powder coated flat black. I still need to powder coat the Billetflow Single Blade Throttle Body and the Precision turbo housing powder coated to match.
I just spoke with Alfonso again from HPP (answered on the first call, like always) and the following from them today.
HPP Turbo Support Brackets
HPP Turbo Air Filters
HPP Custom Turbo Headers
Taylor Battery Relocation Kit
Sullivan Fuel Rails
24" Oil Feed Line
5” Oil Feed Line
-4 T Fitting
1/4” to -4AN Fitting
7/32” Vacuum T
7/32” Vacuum Line
1 1/2” Silicone for Upper Radiator Tube
I still need to order...
Sparco Sprint 5 Seats (Tremor is awaiting word for the order)
HPX Slot Style Mass Air Meter
Ford Racing 3.31 Rear End Gear Ratio
I'm getting there. :evillaugh:
So what do you guys think? LMFAO
