I read that thread last night. It amazed me how many of the Vette owners who posted had never heard the Terminator name for the car, and what little knowledge they had of the '03/'04 Cobra. It was, however, nice to see some of their fellow Vette owners, who also OWN a Terminator, explain the capabilities of the Cobra. I had to agree 110% also with the fact 99% of the Mustang community has nothing but respect for what some of the Corvettes can do.

Both are GREAT American icons. It's just that one is a sports car, and one is a muscle car. Although.. EITHER car can be made better in each of it's respective "weak" areas, quite easily.

I will say the Cobras have held their value much better than a C5. Plus most vet owners seem like a-holes, very stuck up. Now before any vet owners bash me I said "most" not all. I'll stick with the Cobras, very cool cars. But that black vet is sweet.

Car enthusiast before Mustang enthusiast here so I have ALOT of respect for many vehicles both domestic and import. I grew up with four uncles all having their own little brand fights. I spent some of my time watching one uncle tear apart a 350 small block and rebuilding it from time to time. He would swap it from this old mean looking truck to camaro from time to time. That engine scared me as a kid:p Not sure why I ended up involved with the Mustang but no regrets. There are so many factors involving which a person likes better, price, use, parts, prices of parts, capability, friends and more. Is the C6 Z06 better than every mustang stock for stock..YES. That is my opinion and we all have our own. It is part muscle and part sports car. You pay to play and at 80,000 you get what you pay for. Of course...you can buy a Terminator for 20,000 USED throw 10 grand into it and beat an 80,000 car that is STOCK. That's apples and oranges and not even worth comparing anymore. You can get a 2,000 Notch and put 10 grand into it and beat both..apples and oranges. It's all about money....taste falls into place AFTER that. Cause your taste would be hella different if money was not an issue I promise! I have always wanted a 2002 SS in orange with black racing stripes with heads, cam, intake, full exhaust and some spray on a built motor! A CS Z06 with a twin screw would also be insain(in flat black please)!! So be careful when throwing around an uneducated opinion on what's better because as you noticed there are some ignorant and stupid replys floating around:cheers:

My buddy let me drive his brand new Z06. That thing was crazy. With just a CAI and tune it moves out pretty good. Maybe if I land a good job after I'm done with college, I can get one. But I don't think I'd ever replace my Cobra with it. I love my Cobra way too much to ever get rid of it.

I have seen them, but seen more that can back it up at the track. Mustang owners in general have a cocky attitude I think and several have no reason to be. I love the "new to Mustangs" owner who buys a brand new body style GT and thinks because it is new..it is faster. :cheers:

Besides the price i loooooove my z06.

I own both, i have a 500hp Cobra with a KB2.2 fully built engine, trans, cage rearend...etc i could go on for a while, and i have a HCI Z06.

For me i think getting the z06 was the next step in my life. I wanted a more grown up car. I love my cobra and i love driving it, but i cant tell you how much respect i get from owning a z06. I have been fortunate that i can do both and modify the hell out of both.

The fact is that the z06 is a expensive car to modify. It isnt for the faint at heart. I thought the cobra was expensive compared to a GT.. but wow...

Just like everyone else, the greatest thing about the 03/4 platform is for 2k you can be over 500hp and pretty much beat anything that you can fun across. Unfortunately for the vette you are going to need more like 5-8k to get the 500hp at the wheels.

Anyways just my .02. Take it for what it is. I love them both, but i like my vette more than my cobra.

I know the feeling, i have that in my cobra too. I am on my 3rd motor, 3rd blower 4th trans, 3rd rearend. I've had 5 diff sets of wheels.

When i drove the z06 i thought to myself i should have bought one along time ago instead of messing around with the mustang.

I had a lot more than just swapping out heads and cams. I understated for simplicity.

3500$ is a little low, i think we are missing some supporting mods. You can get the blower for 3500 sure, but we are missing a few things, IE fuel, tune, maf, BAP.......

Also the average person isnt going to swap their own blower.

But comparing a ford GT to z06 is apples and oranges when it comes to the price. This could go on forever.

Yep and I have a blower that puts out less boost per HP number then you... Now if I went with my first choice KB 2.8H or the Whipple 3.4crusher then yea we would be about the same in numbers.

The Cobra has a Autocross suspension on it, I had it built for everyday corner carving and the 05 has a full Saleen Racecraft suspension. I honestly will say I dont think either will see much track time.
