Race Mufflers ?

What's the main reason people run Race Mufflers ?

I know our local tracks require everyone run with a muffler.

It seems this would be one way of just getting cars to pass tech.

Also for boosted applications would it lower psi, since it eliminates back pressure ?

I have bassani race mufflers in my SLP cat-back. They're suppose to be good for 600WRHP, but I already blew one (I have about 300 RWHP). Bassani did exchange the bad one out, but now I'm worried about the other going out. I'd recommend Borla Stingers instead of Bassani race mufflers. I think they're better quality then my Bassani's. I do like the size/sound of my Bassani's though.
