For all of those that say that Nitto 555Rs are not worth using. I just wanted to let you know that last night I was able to pull off my personal best at Irwindale and the most impressive part is that I pulled a 1.638 short time. Yes, I am using the 555R tire and stick Fox suspension still as I haven't been able to get my other goodies installed yet. What I have found the real trick to be on these tires is to get them really hot. Also, mine are to the point where there is no tread left and they are working great. I will most likely be buying another set in the near future because I am very happy with them. Ok, that is all. :D

I put it in my build thread. Is there a place for us to post them elsewhere. Sorry, I am kinda slow sometimes. :D

At this point I have a UPR ARB, Upper and lower control arms with spherical bushings and SFCs still need to order the battle boxes and Strange adjustable shocks and struts. After that, it should be pretty much good for suspension.

Nope, sorry. My buddy that normally does the photography and videography of my runs was not up there. :( Kinda upset me seeing as it was a personal best. But, there will be plenty of other opportunities. :D

Where are you going to get the torque box reinforcements installed?

I will be doing the Bolt in portion myself. Then I have a friend in my local car club that will be doing all the welding for me. From what I understand, there is not much welding involved for them. Guess we will see, I have never done them before.

how consistent were the tires overall? just curious.

I have been consistently improving with them. To be honest, I am still learning my car and getting better each time out. So, it's hard for me to honestly answer the question. I will say that I was hovering around the 1.7 range for a long time. After speaking to a few friends that have a lot more drag racing experience than myself, I got better with the tires. What I have found has worked best for me is 15psi, get them really hot and slip the clutch a bit off the line. Once I get another set, I may be able to answer that question better. Hope that answers your question at least a little.
