ok so need some help from someone from ford here.... i had my belt snap on me today when i turned on the a/c system. so got a new belt and it works fine and the ac clutch free wheels like it should when the ac's off but when i turn it on the pully locks up and causes the car to stall. i have like no time to look at it for hours and figure it out. so if anyones got any ideas or know of what it could be hit me back.

if i need a new compressor im just gonna delete the ac system

and does anyone know if i disconect the compressor would the fan system still work? i think it still would and i know if wouldnt blow cold air or anything but just wanna know

Hey Brian I don't know if you got this fixed already or not, but it could be either the a/c clutch locking up. It spins fine until load is put on it and then when it has to engage it locks, but more than likely it sounds like the compressor...

Yes the fan will still work without a/c. It is just a blower motro with a small waterwheel type piece attached that moves the air. Just don't hit the a/c switch if you take it out :p the computer will be feeding the engine more fuel to make up for the drag and if you don't have it then you are just wasting fuel without more timing to take advantage of it...
