I have been getting elbows deep in research for Veterans benefits and came across a benefit known as the Yellow Ribbon Veterans College Assistance.
Basically this is a program that offers numerous benefits to veterans young and old. One benefit that has really caught my attention is its college aide. How it works is if the College you attend donates to this program...and most do, then as a veteran attending that school you are entitled to a monthly allowance.
For example: a friend of my attends Full Sale University in Orlando Florida. That University donates to the Yellow Ribbon Foundation and has allotted their monthly contribution to its veteran students at 1,000 a month. So on top of the Montgomery G.I. Bill my friend receives an additional 1,000 a month.
Just a little bird in the ear of all of my Veterans brothers/sisters or parents and relatives of service members.

P.S. Make sure when you enroll and speak with the schools Veterans Affairs representative to ask about this program..if not they may not mention it to you :)
